THE HISTORIC DOUGLASS HIGH SCHOOL

Environmental Design, Commemorative design,
Photo Retouching, Wayfinding

Beyer Blinder Belle supported the restoration and modernization of the Historic Douglass High School in Leesburg, Virginia, a landmark that served as Loudoun County’s only high school for Black students prior to integration. The project preserved the school’s legacy as a symbol of the fight for educational equality while adapting the building to serve current community, educational, and cultural organizations that continue to share its important history.

As part of the project team, I contributed to a range of environmental graphic design elements, developing both interior interpretive features and exterior installations visible throughout the campus that help communicate and celebrate the school's rich history.
